Chocolate Chip Granola Bars - Zitarice sa cokoladom – domaca Bonzita

Chocolate Chip Granola Bars

Ingredients:
   2 cups             quick-cooking oats (use quick-cooking oats – don't substitute rolled oats)
   1 cup               crispy rice cereal
1/3 cup               light brown sugar
1/4 cup               honey
   4 tablespoons  unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon      vanilla extract
   3 tablespoons  mini chocolate chips

Preparation:
Use the an 8-inch square baking pan and spray it with nonstick cooking spray or smear with thin layer of oil . Put the aluminum foil on the pan leaving an overhang on opposite sides to lift the bars out afterward. Spray the foil with nonstick cooking spray or smear with the oil.
Mix the oats and rice cereal in a heatproof bowl. Add the brown sugar, honey, and butter to a small saucepan and set over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until the sugar has melted. Bring the mixture to a simmer then reduce the heat to low and continue to cook for 1 more minute. Turn off the heat under the pan and stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour the wet ingredients (heat mixture) over the dry (oats and rice cereal) and stir with a rubber spatula until well combined – the dry ingredients should be all moistened. Pour the mixture to the prepared pan. Spread in an even layer and press to compact (must really compact the mixture or granola bars will be crumbly). Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top of the mixture and lightly press down on them with the spatula to compact. You can also sprinkle dried fruits like raisins, cranberry and similar.
Leave it for at least 2 hours (it can be leave to the fridge briefly to speed things up and make them easier to cut). Use the foil handles to lift out then cut into bars. Each bar wrap with plastic wrap. Store it at room temperature for up to 5 days if you don't eat them before.

Zitarice sa cokoladom – domaca Bonzita

Sastojci:
2 solje        brzo skuvani ovas (koristite bzo kuvani ovas a ne rolovani, vise isuseni)
   1 solja        hrskave pirincane pahuljice
1/3 solja        svetlo braon secera
1/4 solja        meda
   4 kasike     maslaca
1/2 kasicica  vanilla extracta
3 kasike     mini chocolate chips – drobljene cokolade

Priprema:
